Despite two first quarter turnovers and several penalties in the game, Oakland bested rival Riverdale 43-14 in the 49th Battle of the 'Boro. It's the sixth win in a row for the Patriots, the longest win streak for them in the history of the series.

It's been a big rivalry since 1974, a few years after the two schools split from Murfreesboro Central.

While Blackman's potent offense had its bright spots, it was their defense that had a break out game in a 42-10 win over rival Smyrna.

Leading 21-10 at the half, the Blaze scored early in the third quarter to extend their lead.

The Battle of the 'Boro is coming up September 15th. The Oakland softball team will host their 11th annual Slick Pig BBQ Dinner and meat sale in the annex cafeteria.

A battle of running backs in Region 3-6A as Riverdale hosted Siegel on a wet Tom Nolan Field. The Warriors defeat their cross town rival by an 18-6 final, with heavy rainfall for much of the game.
