In baseball, Siegel and Stewarts Creek fought off elimination to make it to the bracket finals. Siegel defeated Collierville 6-5 in comeback fashion to play at 5 yesterday afternoon. Then, they run ruled Sevier County 10-0 in 5 innings to make it to today's bracket final.
Stewarts Creek battled Arlington to extra innings, but dropped a 1-nothing decision and forced them to the loser's bracket. Down 4-nothing in that game to Farragut, Stewarts Creek exploded for six runs in the fourth and cruise to a 9-4 win over the Admirals. They'll play Arlington and must win two games to get to the championship.
Central Magnet lost to Spring Hill 4-2, forcing them to the loser's bracket. Their game with Milan was suspended due to rain, with the score 4-4 in the 7th inning. The Tigers have the bases loaded and they'll resume the game at 12-noon. If they win, they'll play Spring Hill at 2pm and must win two games to get to the championship game.
In softball, Stewarts Creek dropped a 4-2 decision to Dickson County. They'll play Clarksville at 11:30am today and we'll have the game on NewsRadio WGNS.
Siegel softball won two games and are a win over Dickson County away from the championship game. They had four home runs in a 6-1 defeat of Clarksville yesterday. They then came back from a 1-nothing deficit to take a lead over Gibbs when rain set in. After a delay, they came back and KaraLynne Levi hit a three run blast in the bottom of the 6th. That was enough for the Lady Stars to defeat Gibbs 7-1. Siegel's 5:30 game with Dickson County will also be on NewsRadio WGNS.
