Blackman declaws the Wildcats of Wilson Central 24-0 in the first round of the TSSAA playoffs.
Blackman scored on their first two possessions in the first quarter and rode a great defensive effort to victory.
After a scoreless second quarter and much of the third, the Blaze tack on a triple behind the leg of senior kicker Tripp Holloway:
Blackman running back Keionte Newson would bookend the night, scoring the first touchdown of the game (13-yard run) and the final one with 3:02 to play (3-yard run) with the Blaze running the wildcat. It was his only two carries of the night.
Malone had 14-carries for 114-yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Mr. Football semifinalist Conner Murphy had 9 tackles and fellow senior linebacker Jaden Layne had 7 tackles.
Blackman will travel to Hendersonville for a second round matchup next Friday night.
