Stewarts Creek used a strong second half to push past Siegel 28-0 to open the 2018 prep football season.

After a slow start for both teams with several penalties and a scuffle late in the first quarter that led to a player from both teams being ejected, it was Stewarts Creek which settled into their offense and put the first points on the scoreboard just before the half on a 30-yard field goal by Joel Aguero (one of two on the night).

The Red Hawks were able to hold the Stars to under 150 yards total offense and under 10-yards rushing for the game. They also caused two interceptions, a blocked punt and a fumble. Their defense set up most of the Stewarts Creek scoring, including a 43-yard scope and score by Jamie Wimsett:

Bryan Barrett with the call on WGNS State Farm Prep Sports.

Running back Savion Davis ran for 94-yards on 5 carries and two touchdowns for the Red Hawks. Quarterback Johnnie Simmons was 7-of-10 passing for 66-yards.

Siegel quarterback Tucker Sears had eight carries for 41-yards and was 5-of-13 passing for 109-yards and two interceptions.

Stewarts Creek travels to Antioch while it's Siegel's home opener with Ravenwood next Friday.
