The Siegel Stars punched their ticket to Spring Fling with a dominating 7-1 win over Cookeville Friday night.

Strong pitching from J.R. Langworthy and Seth Petry combined with timely hits put the Stars in the state's final eight.

Drew Benefield was 2-for-2 with three runs scored on two doubles. Matt McCurry went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and one driven in. Siegel had eight hits total, scoring three runs in the first inning, three more in the second and an insurance run in the fourth.

Stewarts Creek was leading 1-0 in the top of the first inning at Bradley Central when the game was postponed due to rain and lightning. They'll pick up the game in the top of first Saturday at 7pm at Bradley Central. A win would put the Red Hawks in the Class AAA tournament as well.
