Before every football game, Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott writes the word Faith on a strip of tape he wraps around his arm. The story behind the ritual is as heartwarming as the 2016 NFL Rookie of the Year's own story.

The public can hear this story when Prescott keynotes the 2017 Legacy of Light Gala benefiting Middle Tennessee Christian School (MTCS) on Saturday, April 29.

"Prescott's story of faith and perseverance, combined with his successes on the gridiron, make him a great choice for the speaker at Middle Tennessee Christian's annual spring fundraiser," said Matt Tiller, MTCS president.

In this interview-style format, Prescott will discuss how he has overcome obstacles in his life, and what it was like to step up into the spotlight, filling some of the biggest shoes in the NFL. Prescott became the fourth rookie quarterback ever in franchise history to open the season as a starter after star quarterback Tony Romo suffered a severe injury. Prescott also attended Mississippi State where he played for the Bulldogs and received numerous awards, set 38 school records, and led the team to major success before moving on to the NFL.

The Legacy of Light Gala, has previously hosted former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and former First Lady Laura Bush.

The gala will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the MTCS campus. Individual tickets are $75.00 each for reserved seating and $50.00 each for general admission seating. Sponsorship Packages including a special engagement dinner with Prescott are available.
